I woke up on July 10th at 7:00 a.m. and had all my luggage packed and ready to go. I packed everything the night before because I had procrastinated. We were only going to spend 3 nights in Anaheim, California, so it wasn’t like I was going to spend a whole week over there. Me, my two sisters, my mom, and my aunt were the ones going. My dad couldn’t go because he had to do haybales for the farm.
“Get up, we’re leaving at 8,” said my mom, barging into my room.
I was already up, but I was on my phone. I got up, dressed, grabbed my phone, my charger, and headphones, and stuffed them in my bag. I took my luggage and put it in the back of my dad's pickup. He was going to drop us off at the airport and go back home. After everyone put their luggage in the pickup and made sure we had everything (like our plane tickets and so on), we left.
“Can we stop at McDonald’s for breakfast,” asked my 7-year-old sister.
Everyone agreed because we were all kind of hungry, so we stopped at the McDonald’s in Jerome before getting onto the freeway. We ate and then left to Boise. The 2-hour ride to the airport felt like 4 hours because I was so eager to go on this trip. We finally arrived at the Boise International Airport at 10:00 a.m.
“We need to hurry, or we’ll miss it,” my older sister said eagerly.
I got my bags and went into the airport. We said goodbye to my dad and then boarded the flight at 11:00 am exactly.
The seats were comfortable, but there was little leg room, so I sat kind of weird. The airplane filled with the voices of people chatting and laughing. I sat with my older sister, and my little sister sat with my mom in the row in front of us. We took flight and left.
“Hopefully it doesn’t take that long to get there,” my sister said, right before she plugged her headphones in to go to sleep.
It took 2 hours to arrive at LAX, which was quick. I woke my sister up, and we all got off the flight. We took an Uber from there to Anaheim, where Disneyland was and where our hotel was. We arrived at the hotel and moved all our luggage into our room. The lobby made me shiver because of how cold it was with the blasting air conditioning. We got the room key from the front desk and headed to our room on the second floor.
My aunt opened the door and we all said, “Wow. It’s very nice in here.”
There were two beds and a couch as white as clouds in the middle. I checked the bathroom to see how it looked, and it looked very white also. I took a shower, and then we stayed the whole day at the hotel. We went to the pool down by the lobby. We went out to eat for dinner, and then went to sleep for the next day. I got up at 10 am and said good morning to everyone.
We all got dressed and took a bus to Disneyland. It only took about 10 minutes to get there, mostly due to the traffic. We went through the gates and into the park.
“Let’s get on this ride first,” said my overly eager little sister with a big smile.
The lines were all long, so the day went by really slowly because of all the waiting. We went home at around 9:00 p.m. after watching the fireworks. The next day, we did the exact same thing.
On the third day my older sister said, “Can we go to the beach today?”
We all were down to go, so we did. Traveling in an Uber was our only option again because we didn’t have a vehicle. We got to the beach, and it looked very nice. I got in the water, and it was warm and salty. We spent two hours there, went back to the hotel, and got our things. Then we went back to Boise.
“That was a fun trip,” we all said.
